Air : Pocket Symphony

Un air de déjà vu mais rafraîchissant pourtant, c'est tout en douceur que ce nouvel album d'Air vous emportera dans son Univers.

Quel univers d’ailleurs ? Passant de l’anglais au français au fil des chansons, ils utilisent des sonorités parfois electro mais parfois aussi plus doucereuses.

En parlant d’univers justement, certains morceaux sont franchement décalés, tel le morceau “Napalm love” contenant des répétitions autour de la phrase « I’m burning alive » sur une musique digne d’une pub pour un yaourt allégé.
Blague à part, les habitués d’Air ne seront pas déçus : on retrouve cette atmosphère très cinématographique qui leur est chère dans “Left Blank” ou “Mer du Japon” (ahhh, ironie quand tu nous tiens.).

Voilà pour ce que l’on a aimé. Mais tout n’est pas rose, car on a connu Air plus innovant.
Des sonorités présentes dans de trop nombreux morceaux actuellement pousse très vite à l’overdose dans cet album.

Dès les premières notes de “Once Upon A Time” ou “Photograph”, on pense tout de suite à Charlotte Gainsbourg et son album 5:55 (album auquel ils ont d’ailleurs collaboré, mais trop d’une bonne chose la tue comme on dit).

Non messieurs, la copie de la tendance ce n’est pas de l’art, désolé de vous décevoir.

Un album contenant quelques originalités, mais pas assez pour le démarquer d’une tendance forte pour les chansons “doucereuses” (mielleuses serait plus approprié en fait) a-t-il sa place ? A vous chers lecteurs d’en décider.
